Why Cyberpunk?
The machine is taking its world back, or at least it’s trying to. The peak of the cyberpunk universe influence on pop culture was in the 80´s and late-‘90s, but we are experiencing a re-establishment of this genre as it has striked back into the mainstream over the last year.
Successful franchising as Blade Runner 2049, Altered Carbon, Ghost in the Shell and Battle Angel Alita, and, of course, the upcoming Cyberpunk 2077 video game from the makers of The Witcher, show us that the genre’s looks, city concepts, and society intricating relations are coming back from their multidecade hibernation.
Excelsior wanted to create a deck that could reflect the exciting pop culture hype for the fans and at the same time have a luxurious look for cardists and magicians. Therefore, this genre was a perfect match and a good choice for our unique, 3D modeled concept.
Our Cyberdeck
King
He is one of the elite fighting soldiers. One of the oldest ex-military in the corporation, today his body is almost a machine, relying on cyberlimbs, neural-chips and enhancement drugs. All he does is kill, and he is the best at doing it. That´s why he is The King!
Jack
Farmers don´t have space in this era. After losing his home in the countryside of Japan to the corporations, he decided to take revenge on them. The only weapon he had was his ancient family sword, so the other farming families gave him all their economic resources to help him acquire a cyberarmor and avenge them. The corporations are not prepared for his blood thirst.
Queen
There is no one better when it comes to builting a new body. Some would call your a Medtechie, some a cyberbody expert, but if you want a rare part to overcome your enemies, you better call her The Queen. After lose her limbs to blackmarket thiefs, she decided to be at the top of cyberenhancement, so she could stop this madness and savagery. If you want great equipment, you will have to cross her path and follow her rules. The Queen is sovereign!
Numbers
All hail to the code, the machine…and the numbers. Cybershock’s numbers will never overwhelm you. They are gracefully designed to maintain a balance between the classic and cyberpunk styles. After all, they are an essential part of the machine’s core.
Aces
The meticulously designed aces reflect the most detailed parts of the machine’s core. The lettering contains a traditional design that reflects the style of the deck, and, at the same time, provides a good visibility of the suits.
Back
Nothing better to represent Cybershock’s world than a lock. The machine keeps its secrets well hidden. The light is projected to enhance the 3D effect, generating an outstanding cyberfaro or metal fanning.
